HEARING ACTIVITY ON HB 4323
April 12, 2008
Michigan Motorized Recreation Council
For Immediate Release:
Things are looking good for participation at 1:00 p.m. on the 16th. We have several excellent speakers lined up and will state our position nicely. We only need to say enough. We have plenty of people and material for rebuttal in the days following the hearing. We are optimistic on the vote by the Committee on the 23rd, but will not stop making our pitch until the votes are cast. In addition, we have several lobbyist advising and helping us out.
Now, the absolute best part you can play;
AT THE HEARING:
It is a rather small room, seating about 75 people; we need to keep it full and very orderly, much like a courtroom or church. Need all of you to make certain to visit your Senators office, (see attached) and express your support for HB 4323. You may not see the Senator, don’t mind making your pitch to a staff member. Some people are making appointments and it is not too late to ask.
Feel quite free to stop into any Senate office and express your support of HB 4323. Almost like trick or treating on Halloween, go door to door. If you have time, go down to the Anderson Building and Thank you’re Representative for their support on March 20 of 2007.
We cannot carry signs, or hamper pedestrian traffic into the Farnum Building We urge you to wear identifying ORV clothing making our presence known.
E-MAILS: Everyone, if they have not done so, should without doubt, send an e-mail to jbrewer@senate.michigan.gov supporting HB 4323 “as presented from the House”. These will go into a pile of “support” and be presented to the Committee at the beginning of the hearing. This can be done up until close of business on Tuesday. We urge you to contact each of your ORV friends and make sure they do so. This is a positive way for those unable to attend to participate.
